GENTLEMEN OF FEW - THIS IS GETTING OLD
PRESENTED BY LOUISE HOUGHTON
WWW.LOUISEHOUGHTON.COM
"Fusing an old time bluegrass sound with a youthful English vigour, impeccable harmonies and song craft way beyond their years. Mighty impressive." -Smugglers Records
We are four musicians between the ages of 15 and 17 that combine a passion of music with the vitality and power of Folk and Bluegrass tunes. We all hail from the garden of England, Kent; specifically Deal, Dover and River, and we each bring our own strengths to the almost three-year-young band known as "Gentlemen of Few".
We have: Elliott Norris - Lead Guitarist, Mandolinist, Banjo player, backing vocals (learning violin and adaptable to almost any stringed instrument) Reece Forward - Lead Vocalist, Rhythm Guitarist, Electric Bassist (and currently learning the harmonica!) Luke "Kit" Evans - Banjo player, Drummer and Backing vocals (With a marvellous ability to harmonise to almost any piece of music) and finally, Jarrod Piner-Sewell - Keyboardist, Accordionist, Double-Bassist and Backing Vocals.
We play our own, home-made pieces of music alongside covers and even the music that (although not particularly well-known) has captured our attention and admiration. We've managed to pool our creativity together to create a 6 track EP full of original songs now available for download on Amazon and iTunes! In celebration of the release, we produced a launch night at the Astor Community theatre in Deal, Kent filled with local music and decadent décor - the night was a total success with a sell-out show exceeding the limit of the hall's capacity squashing 350 singing fans into the auditorium.
We've performed at venues including The Winter Gardens, Margate, Lounge on the Farm, Smugglers Festival and we have a serious gig list for the rest of the year performing at events like Small World Festival, The Marlowe Theatre with Coco & the Butterfields and Frolic Fest!
