The band name that Jay Pollmann (guitar, vocals), brother Eric Pollmann (bass), and Brad Jackson (drums) chose clearly defines what they're trying to achieve together.
GRUVE is a Canadian band that hails from the small towns of Caledonia and Cayuga just south of Hamilton, Ontario. The band is road tested having been together for 5 years, releasing three well received albums and playing close to 300 shows together across North America.
The band's third album titled "Out Of Nowhere" was released on June 18th 2011. It was recorded at CBC Studios in downtown Toronto with help from producer David Porteous and engineer Reuben Ghose.
"Musically you can hear the difference right from the first few seconds -- the sound is more aggressive, taught and confident -- rather than improvised jams, GRUVE still lives up to their name but with a new focus" - Ric Taylor - The View Hamilton
With a more focused sound being described as 'Groove based dirt rock' the band`s live show has progressed equally as much. GRUVE brings a high energy explosive, party like atmosphere each and every time they perform live.
In 2011 GRUVE followed up a successful cd release with an east coast Canadian tour and a Hamilton Music Award Nomination for "Rock Recording of The Year." In March 2012 the band travelled to Austin Texas to showcase at the Red Gorilla Music Festival.
The band's goal for 2012 will be to continue to push forward and bring their music into new markets across North America.
