Marvell are the dynamic trio known for their easy listening.
Marvell are a three-piece grime/hip hop/urban music group from Tottenham, north London, comprised of emcees/vocalists Vertex, Shocka and Double S. Vertex and Double S met at school and grew up on the Northumberland Park estate: both were members of the Shoddy Crew, a grime collective which also included Chipmunk. Shocka grew up on the nearby Broadwater Farm estate and was a member of the Chain Gang collective alongside Wretch 32.

The group formed after Vertex had been working as a video director and graphic designer and Shocka asked Vertex to produce artwork for a mixtape. After hearing the mixtape Vertex and Double S asked Shocka to join the group. The new line-up was announced during a live appearance on Semtex's Radio One show in 2008.

As well as rapping and designing, Vertex has a parallel career as a director of music videos. He has shot videos for artists including The Noisettes (Don't Upset the Rhythm), Chipmunk (Oopsy Daisy, Diamond Rings, Superstar), Danny and Freja (If Only You) and DJ Ironik (Slow Down). Vertex's videography background has been an important part of Marvell's development, allowing the group to regularly upload new videos with high production qualities to their website and social media feeds.

The group have released four mixtapes between 2009 to 2011. The series better known as Marvell FM was recognised when group won the category of Best Newcomer at the Official Mixtape Awards in January 2010. They also won the Best Music Video from a Mixtape 2010 category at the second OMAs, announced in 2011 and again most recently in 2012.
